Christopher Shaw

Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand, with CEng(UK) and CPEng(NZ). Educated at the University of Cambridge and College of Aeronautics, Cranfield Institute of Technology, he has experience in both industry and university environments. He has worked as a fluid dynamics specialist for SDRC and Jaguar Cars before moving to the Department of Engineering, University of Warwick. After 11 years at Warwick, Chris joined the University of Otago where he developed papers in Product Design and the Design for Technology major of the Bachelor of Applied Science degree. On leaving, he was Associate Professor and Head of Department of Design Studies.

With strengths in engineering/design teaching, engineering research, general management and governance, Chris has acted as a consultant to a wide range of professional organisations, industrial companies, universities, local government and national government organisations.

Outside work, Chris is Chair of the Kepler Challenge Mountain Run Trust.
